Privacy Policy — Noor
The short version
Noor keeps everything on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We do not have a server that stores anything about you, because we do not collect anything about you.
The app makes exactly one network request, and only when you ask it to: fetching the curated catalog when you open Discover.
What stays on your device
All of your content and activity is stored in a database on your phone and never leaves it unless you export it yourself:
- the azkar and sets you create, and the built-in ones you have pinned
- your counts, daily progress, completions and streaks
- your settings: language, theme, text size, transliteration preference
- your reminders, which are scheduled by your device's own operating system
Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. We cannot recover it, because we never had it.
The one network request
When you open Discover, the app downloads a catalog of curated azkar from catalog.loudnesstech.com. This is a plain file download. It sends no personal information, no device identifier and no account — the request carries only what any web request must: your IP address, and the standard connection details our hosting provider records in its ordinary server logs. Those logs are not linked to you or to anything you do in the app, and we do not analyse them.
If you never open Discover, the app never contacts the network at all. Everything else — including the entire Quran text, its translation and transliteration — is bundled inside the app and read from your device.
Backups you create
Exporting a backup writes a file and hands it to your device's own share sheet. Where it goes is your choice: your files, a cloud drive, a message. That file contains your content and your progress. It never passes through us, and once you have shared it, it is governed by whatever service you sent it to.
Restoring reads such a file back. Both actions are yours alone; the app never backs up on its own.
What we do not do
- No accounts, sign-in, or profile
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or usage statistics
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers
- No third-party SDKs of any kind — the app has none
- No selling or sharing of data, because there is none to sell or share
- No location, contacts, camera, microphone or photo access
Permissions
Notifications, only if you enable a reminder. Reminders are scheduled and delivered entirely by your device. No reminder passes through a server, so a reminder cannot tell anyone anything about you.
Children
Noor is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anyone, children included. There is no messaging, no user-to-user content and no external linking beyond the source attributions on the About screen.
Scripture and third-party content
The Quran text, translation and transliteration are bundled datasets, each shown with its edition, licence and attribution on the About screen inside the app. They are read on your device and never modified.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it, and a material change will be noted in the app's release notes.
